The 2024 Mazda CX-5 has eight trim levels with two powertrains. Five trims are outfitted with a 187-horsepower, non-turbo four-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine. The remaining trims have a turbocharged variation of this engine that is good for 227 horsepower. The Mazda CX-90, on the other hand, has three powertrains available for its five trim levels. The entry-level engine is a turbo 3.3-liter V6 system that generates 280 horsepower. A high-output version of this V6 engine is also available, and it gives you 340 horsepower. A 2.5-liter, four-cylinder, plug-in hybrid engine is also offered, and it gives you 323 horsepower. This system has an all-electric range of 26 miles.
Appearance
In line with Mazda's modern design language, both models have effortless, flowing contouring and a wide-bottomed grille. The Mazda CX-5 is a smaller model with slightly angled side contouring and a thin band of black molding from bumper to bumper. The thin headlights are distinctive with their aggressive shape. The Mazda CX-90 boasts a strongly raked rear with a tapered roof. The fenders are modestly defined, and a chrome accent is mounted near the front fender. At the front, the grille is thickly lined by a chrome accent bar, and the headlights are more pronounced. For added personality, bold air intakes frame the grille.
