The entry-level powertrain for the Mazda CX-50 is a four-cylinder, 2.5-liter engine, and an upgraded, turbocharged variation of this engine is also available. These systems produce 187 horsepower and 227 horsepower. Across all trim levels, the Mazda CX-50 is outfitted with all-wheel drive and a six-speed auto transmission. The Mazda CX-90 is available with three powertrains. The turbo 3.3-liter V6 system generates 280 horsepower, and an upgraded version of this engine generates 340 horsepower. A plug-in hybrid system is also offered. These engines all pair with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed auto transmission.
Appearance
The small Mazda CX-50 crossover stands tall with a short, lightly tapered nose and a raked liftgate at the rear. The sides are confidently styled with rounded rear haunches, an arched contour over the doors, and practical body molding. The wide grille at the front pairs with a slender lower fascia, sporty air inlets, and piercing headlights. The Mazda CX-90 is designed with a strongly angled profile and a tall front end. On the sides, a chrome air inlet and chrome lower-body accents add elegance. The grille and modest lower fascia have chrome accents. The linear-style LED headlights are mounted above deep air inlets.
